The Yorkton Steering Committee shall work toward empowering families and communities

Identify: community needs and resources to meet needs

About the Committee
Yorkton Child Action Plan Committee

Community organizations and agencies in Yorkton meet once a month during September - June.  The committee promotes and sustains an important emphasis on issues affecting children, youth and families, and contributes to awareness of these issues and actions.

Healthy Families: 
December 2002 -select festival name, develop goal statement, prepare grant proposal, confirm location / venue
January / February 2003 - review and submit grant proposal for festival 
September 2003 - Celebrating Families Festival
Communication: 
Goal:  increase awareness of CAP and community issues
November 2002 - early childhood development campaign contact papers / radio stations, develop schedule for articles, establish sub-committee to write grant proposal
